Wake Up To A Delicious Smoothie

Some people love to wake up at the crack of dawn, ready for the day ahead, but mornings aren’t for everyone. Whether you’re an early riser or pillow hugger it’s important to start your day off right with a good breakfast and what better way than with a delicious fruit smoothie. There are loads of smoothie recipes out there but one of our personal favourites is this tropical papaya smoothie. It’s full of vitamin C, super simple to make and guaranteed to keep the sun shining on you no matter what the English summer throws at us. (For all of our smoothie recipes you’ll need a blender)

1 cup of milk
2 table spoons of natural yoghurt
1 teaspoon of pure vanilla extract
1 small ripe banana, peeled and sliced
½ large, ripe papaya, peeled, seeded and chopped
A few ice cubes

All you do is put the ingredients into the blender and puree until smooth, simple! The papaya gives it that really tropical flavour while being rich in anti-oxidants and vitamin C and A.

If you can’t get hold of any papaya why not try a frozen fruit smoothie? You can keep most of the ingredients in the freezer making this ideal for people with a busy lifestyle.

1 banana (you can freeze these, if you freeze them in the skin it will go black but the fruit will be fine)
1 cup of mixed frozen fruits
2 tablespoons of natural yoghurt
1 cup of skimmed milk (or mix it up with apple juice instead)
Honey to taste (optional)

Like before, put all of your ingredients into a blender and puree until smooth, because the fruit is frozen there is no need to add ice cubes.

Don’t like banana? Not everyone does, why not try this mango smoothie instead. Mangos are great for making the smoothie nice and thick and they are lovely and sweet.

1 mango peeled, seeded and chopped
2 tablespoons of natural yoghurt
1 cup of orange juice
A few ice cubes

You know what to do... In the blender, puree until smooth.

The great thing about fruit smoothies is that you can pretty much mix them up with whatever you like so experiment and enjoy your fruit full mornings.
