If you love pattern but don’t want to risk a patterned fabric sofa, choose a patterned footstool instead. The beauty of a patterned fabric footstool is that it can unify a room by including the different colours in the décor. So a footstool with blue, green and cream in its colours could work beautifully in a room that has a cream fabric sofa, a blue rug and a green vase or table lamp.

Patterned fabrics don’t show marks in the same way as plain fabrics can, another reason they are a good choice for a fabric footstool.

You can find both traditional and modern footstools with vivid patterns, and subtle and bolder colour combinations. If you want to go for an eclectic vibe, look for fabric cushions in patterns that are similar in colour and pattern, but slightly different.
