We thank her for; bringing 60's pop art into our everyday lives - bold, bright and fun geometrics and florals.
This March, we're celebrating both St Davids day on the 1st and St Patricks day on the 17th by focusing on some Welsh and Irish designers who have influenced the way we furnish and live in our homes. Whatever your style, the chances are that one or more of these people have contributed a little something to it.
We'll be adding more designers throughout the month - so if your favourite isn't here yet, check back later and see if we've added them.
DOB; 10 May 1964
Most Famous for; Irish Eyes and his Chelsea Gold medal winning 'Irish Sky Garden'
We thank him for; giving us inspiration to make the most of every outdoor space
Diarmuid Gavin has inspired gardeners across the country with his innovative garden designs and enthusiasm for the great outdoors
Born in 1964, Diarmiud was naturally green-fingered, studying horticulture at the College of Amenity Horticulture in Ireland, before becoming famous as the host of BBC Gardeners World..
He went on to host and co-host several TV programmes, creating controversial gardens as eye catching for their hard landscaping as for their horticultural content. He was a leading protagonist of the 'outdoor room' encouraging us to mould our gardens in the same way that we decorate our internal rooms
Be inspired by Gavin and make the most of any outdoor space you have. Whether you have a city roof terrace or a cottage garden, turn it into a special haven for you, your friends and family to enjoy during the warmer months...
Look out for garden pods, architectural structures and luxurious daybeds to make the most of your space. Team them with firepits and heaters so you can still make use of your 'outdoor room' into the evenings and in cooler months.
