100 years and counting

G Plan’s roots go back to 1898 and a pioneering chair maker named Ebenezer Gomme. Using his furniture expertise, he grew a workshop into a family business by crafting quality furniture for Britain’s homes.

In 1953 his grandson, Donald Gomme, went on to found a new kind of furniture company. One that set the standard for quality, innovation and great design - and G Plan has been a benchmark for British furniture ever since.

G Plan’s post-war furniture helped rebuild Britain, and its sofas continue to keep Britain comfy today. It’s devoted the last eight decades to perfecting the art of sofa making and, as anyone who has sat on a G Plan sofa knows, that’s exactly what it’s achieved.
