Then you could be swept right off your feet by the Fresh Romantic look, one of the key interior design trends for Spring 2015.

This relaxed and simple style is easy to replicate in your home, with some carefully chosen furniture and accessories.

The star of any bedroom is, of course, the bed. A carved painted wooden bed frame or the chic silhouette of an elaborate headboard sets a magical mood. Or, for the classic romantic look, opt for a Victorian style bedstead such as the Katherine bedstead. The beauty is in the ornate details, such as the sphere shaped ‘finials’ at each corner.

Soft neutrals are the perfect background palette for a soothing romantic scheme. Choose pale calming greens, dreamy blues and lavenders, ethereal whites or rich creams for your walls. Let the sunlight peek through European style shutters, or allow sheer curtains to flutter in the breeze.

For storage, traditional stand alone pieces work beautifully. A vintage item of furniture can make a strong style statement, or pick a simple chest of drawers such as the Ambriella 3 drawer plus 4 drawer chest, available in either white or cotton. We love the Emily dressing table with its painted legs, natural wooden top and cup handles.

Splashes of Spring colour will add warmth and vibrancy to the pale and restful scheme. Opt for a vase of delicate flowers, cushions in muted florals or a brightly coloured throw placed across at the end of the bed.

A romantic sanctuary has to be luxurious. The 100% silk, feather filled Dupion gold silk cushion shimmers when it catches the light. For comfort underfoot, why not treat yourself to the whisper soft, 100% sheep’s wool Braided wool rug.

Antiqued wood and lustrous gold and silver finishes add to the ambiance. The ornamental Chapman mirrorcelebrates baroque style. Its hand-leafed silvered frame is intricately moulded and features ornamental crests.

The elegant Elizabeth table lamp, with its glass crackle effect base topped off by a pleated cream fabric shade could be a gorgeous finishing touch.

Are you feeling inspired? Your dream romantic getaway may be closer than you think. A lick of fresh paint, the right furniture and some beautiful accessories will almost certainly make you fall in love with your bedroom all over again.
