Named as Pantone’s colour of 2017, ‘Greenery’ is officially the colour of the season. So if you’ve developed a sudden urge to update your interior with splashes of the botanical shade, you’re certainly in good company.

Described as ‘fresh and zesty’ by Pantone, ‘Greenery’ is a pale green-yellow tone, however, everything from emerald to bottle green is infiltrating the design and interior world this season.

Combined with the current ‘indoors out’ trend, botanical is big right now. We’ve curated a collection of our favourite furniture and accessories that celebrate this energetic, life affirming colour.

Something a little more subtle

Soft furnishings and accessories such as rugs and cushions are often the missing item that make a room feel put-together, and they're a great option for trying out a different colour palette. Muted or neutral textiles and fabrics are the safe and sophisticated choice but sometimes you just need a bit of a statement to change the dynamic of your living room and this is where a splash of greenery looks great. Our tip? Don’t feel you have to match things. Instead, pick one or two green cushions and arrange them among neutral tones or for a modern aesthetic.

Stylish accessories

If you’re not quite ready for a green three-piece suite or statement corner sofa, worry not. It’s so easy to update your home with just a hint of this season’s on-trend shade and reinvent your space without spending a lot. Simple accessories such as vases or wall art go a long way.

Vases for example add a certain freshness with their glistening transparency and look great displayed in a spectrum of greens, mixing darker and lighter tones. The same idea works for wall art too - bringing colour and interest to your walls.

Add just a few carefully chosen accents to your space and it'll feel fresh and new in no time.

Botanical-inspired pieces

The trend for having plants indoors has never been quite so big and less green-fingered indoor gardeners can bring blooms into their space with printed floral cushions and upholstery.

Don’t be shy with these, they look great clashed against each other for an eclectic, Boho take on the Greenery trend or against a backdrop of neutrals. Think of a dark floral cushion against a brighter, more abstract one. You can even extend the look to your walls with art and wallpaper. We love the zesty lime of the Dune cushions or, if you’re after something more muted, our Aruba scatter cushions are a sophisticated option.

If you really want the look to bloom, embrace an armchair in a floral-pattern, such as the Wellington piece in lavish flocked fabric. It’s a real statement piece that will turn your guests green with envy, and instantly adds so much character to a room.
