1. Sleeping beauties: statement bed frames

Every glam bedroom needs an impossibly beautiful bed to take centre stage. It’s the star of the show, and probably the most important piece of furniture in your home.

“It’s definitely where the wow-factor starts. Statement silhouettes and velvet are your friend,” says Lucy. “Opt for a luxe upholstered bed frame with deep buttoning or go for the always on-trend scrolled headboard.”

“Layer on the luxury with a velvet bedspread and a handful of extra-soft scatter pillows. Textures are really important, you want it to feel as plush and decadent as possible.”

As for colour, opt for rich, deep tones like dusky pinks and marbled grey to give it that classic glam feel.

2. Mirror, mirror on the wall: glam bedroom furniture

Of course, your bedroom can’t be all style and no substance. It needs beautiful yet practical additions too.

Meet your style saviours: mirrored bedroom furniture. Serving gorgeous glam good looks, these timeless beauties deliver high-shine and high-fashion. Plus, they can make your space look even bigger. Win win.

From chests of drawers to bedside cabinets, you can quickly up the glam factor in your bedroom with just a simple style switch, making this our easiest glam bedroom idea.

“And remember, there’s no one way to do glam. There’s boho glam which works beautifully with rattan and handcrafted oak furniture, and modern glam which is high-gloss furniture’s natural home,” Lucy tells us.

3. It’s the little things that count: glam accessories

Want a glam bedroom without the price tag? We’ve got you. You need some glitzy accessories. These luxurious finishing touches will bring some much-needed flair to your existing décor – and plenty of compliments too.

Accessories shimmer with design possibilities. Turn up the glam with a large wall mirror in silver or gold, or create an understated, classic glam look with a mix of chrome and grey ornaments,” says Lauren Davenport, Accessories Buyer.

And for you colour devotees out there, jewel-toned accessories are making a comeback. “Rich emeralds, rubies and sapphires are cropping up in a lot of glam interiors. These standout shades are a great yet simple glam bedroom idea.”

4. Wake up beautifully: luxurious divans

Coming home to a bedroom that wouldn’t look out of place in a boutique hotel is the dream, right?

“A luxurious divan can give your bedroom a real designer edge – especially if you go for a premium brand like Vispring or Harrison Spinks,” says Lucy.

Beautifully upholstered in ultra-soft fabrics like velvet and chenille, our divan beds simply ooze high-end glamour. Not to mention, they’re the beds of choice for many a royal household and celebrity home.

Glamour isn’t just about what your bedroom looks like; what it feels like is just as important. Showstopping good looks are a must, but so is five-star comfort.

5. The light idea: glam lighting

Our next glam bedroom idea? It’s all about setting the right mood. You don’t want your bedroom to be a sea of grey, but you don’t want it looking like the inside of a glitter factory either.

This is where statement lighting comes in.

“The best thing about glam bedrooms is you can really go to town with lighting and it doesn’t look out of place. Chandelier? Instant glamour. Cascading lighting? Totally glam too,” says Lucy.

Pair a chrome-finished table lamp on both bedside cabinets to create a look of perfect symmetry.

6. In the hot seat: accent chairs

No glam bedroom would be complete without a statement accent chair. They’re a comfy perch and, if needed, double up as a super-useful second wardrobe (we’re looking at you, floor-drobers).

“Accent chairs are a great way to introduce another colour into your bedroom. A bold jewel-toned colour stands out, but pink will always be my go-to choice. Design-wise, Art Deco is the ultimate luxe style,” Lauren tells us.

Another reason to have an accent chair in your bedroom? Pair it with a dressing table and you can create a getting-ready space Marilyn Monroe would be proud of.

“Tempting as it is, don’t rush to buy the first thing that sparkles in your direction. Take some time to create a moodboard and set out your glam bedroom vision first. While you’re here, why not take a look at our beautiful room sets gallery for even more inspiration for your whole home?”
