1. Keep it natural

“I wanted to create a chill and peaceful vibe in our garden office. I love the boho scandi look, so went for a neutral palette of natural oak, soft cream and forest green, with touches of gold here and there. It feels so calming which is great when I’ve got a busy day of meetings and a long to-do list at work.”

2. Put a sofa centre stage

Lucinda’s top pick: Lounge Co. Colette 2 Seater Sofa

“Normally desks are at the heart of a garden office, but I loved the idea of adding a sofa to make it a chill space for the weekends too. I chose the Lounge Co. Colette sofa in Woodland Moss because of its classic mid-century silhouette and super cosy seats.”

3. Make a statement

Lucinda’s top pick: George The Monkey Gold Table Lamp

“I like to put my own stamp on things and immediately fell in love with this quirky gold monkey lamp. It’s so cute and brightens up the office in the evenings!”

4. Softly does it

“To make my garden office feel as cosy as possible, I made sure to add lots of textures around the office like cushions, shaggy throws and soft-pile rugs. They’re perfect for upping the cosy factor in any space and make it feel like home.”

5. Maximise space with a mirror

Lucinda’s top pick: Reine Mirror

“Garden offices tend to be on the smaller side, so to make it feel bigger we added this gorgeous full-length mirror to reflect all the natural light that filters through the windows. It feels so light and airy now which is a real bonus when we have to keep the doors shut in the colder months.”

6. Go green

“I’m a proud plant mum and obsessed with dotting different plants throughout my home. My garden office was, of course, no exception. I styled a couple of tropical plants with some coffee table books and wall art. They help clean the air and are supposed to reduce feelings of stress too.”

7. WFH in style

“My top garden office idea would be to make sure you have a workspace you really love working at. For me, that means an ergonomic chair and a desk in a style that makes me feel inspired and productive. Don’t forget to try out chairs in-store before you buy!”

8. Pull up a chair (or two)

Lucinda’s top pick: Ercol Marlia Chair

Accent chairs double up as a great break-out space and reading spot when I don’t fancy sitting at my desk. Plus, they create a social hub we can invite friends and family to during the warmer summer months. I chose these beautiful solid oak chairs that are handmade right here in the UK by iconic furniture designers, Ercol.”

9. The light idea

Lucinda’s top pick: Asterope Floor Lamp

“No garden office is complete without a statement floor lamp! This elegant orb design adds a touch of subtle glam to my scandi space and allows me to work into the evenings on my passion projects.”
