Lucian R Ercolani founded ercol in 1920 and designed many of the company's most popular ranges. In 2010, the Originals Collection he first launched in the late 1950s was awarded a Design Guild Mark by the Worshipful Company of Furniture Makers.
A furniture design graduate from the Royal College of Art, Floris was ercol's Design Director for many years. He famously designed the contemporary Gina recliner the first piece of domestic furniture to win a FIRA ergonomics excellence award.
Tim is a multi award winning furniture designer who has worked with ercol since 2006. Function has always been at the heart of Tims design. His hugely popular Paladina range draws heavily on ercols design heritage, producing a modern range with traditional overtones.
Matthew Hilton, widely credited for the revival of great British furniture in recent years, was Designer of the Year at The British Design Awards in 2008. Matthew works with ercol on a number of pieces, including the distinctive Napoli occasional table and the beautiful Treviso desk.
James produces one off craft pieces to commission. His love of using solid woods to produce beautiful and dramatic curves can be seen in his Artisan collection for ercol and in our Savona bedroom range and Mantua dining and cabinet ranges.
