1. Lovingly handcrafted in the UK

Yearn is a small, family business dedicated to making beautiful mirrors that stand the test of time. Skilled artisans handcraft each mirror using a unique combination of modern and traditional techniques. “We have a wood mill on-site that gives us total control of the crafting process from start to finish,” explains Ghassan Kharsa, Production Manager at Yearn. “Every component of our mirrors is made by experienced local wood machinists and finished by hand to ensure a faultless finish.”

2. Designs that double as wall art

Yearn mirrors are real statement pieces. Think sparkling circular mirrors with opulent hand-strung crystal balls and rectangular mirrors that make your dressing table stand out from the crowd. They’re designed to embellish your decor and turn heads, as well as be a practical addition to your home. “If you’re looking for something unique, you’ll find something in our collection,” says Ghassan Kharsa.

3. Styles in every size and shape

“We’re proud to craft a wide variety of mirrors, from large wall mirrors that open up small hallways to full-length leaner mirrors that are perfect for the bedroom,” explains Ghassan Kharsa. Our Yearn mirror collection has everything, from compact squares to hang above a sideboard on the landing that help create the illusion of more space to funky abstract shapes that add character to any interior.

4. Part of London’s rich heritage

Every Yearn mirror starts its life in a modern factory based in the heart of London’s East End. “Where we’re based actually has a long and illustrious manufacturing history,” explains Ghassan Kharsa. “Our building was originally a glass bottle works in the 1700s, and it’s still where we produce our glass mirrors today.” This heritage informs every part of the crafting process, from the time-honoured techniques used to create each wooden frame to the precision of their bevelling.

5. Hand-finished with real gilding

Not all mirrors are finished with the care and attention to detail given to a Yearn mirror. Yearn hand finish many of their mirrors with gold or silver leaf. “Skilled artisans painstakingly apply it by hand to ensure a flawless finish every time. Some of our more modern mirrors have matte finishes that are hand sprayed to create a clean, contemporary look,” Ghassan Kharsa tells us.

6. Polished for an impeccable shine

The best mirrors reflect a true mirror image. Yearn only use the finest quality float glass to create a distortion and defect-free reflection in all their mirrors. Standard mirrors often use cheaper glass that contains small impurities which causes small distortions and subtle warping. “Our mirrors are hand polished before they leave our factory to ensure a gleaming surface every time,” explains Ghassan Kharsa..
