Cleaning tips

Cleaning tips

Wipe any marks or spills on your stone or travertine dining table or cabinet with a damp cloth and then dry using a soft duster. Use a few drops of a pH neutral cleaner, or stone soap and warm water for cleaning. Abrasive cleaners may scratch stone and travertine surfaces.

Special instructions

Protect surfaces from heat

Table mats on stone and travertine surfaces to protect the finish from warm plates, and hot serving dishes and kitchenware.

Leave extending tables extended

Extending dining tables should be left extended for the first few months to avoid uneven appearance.

What you should know

If you are moving a travertine or stone table, always carry the tops vertically – never horizontally. Avoid placing stone or travertine in direct sun or close to a heat source, such as a radiator. Coasters and placemats are recommended, especially as the acid in fruit juices and fruit drinks can stain stone.

Be safe!

Never move or carry an extending table while the extension leaves are in use – always return the table to its unextended position first. And remember that inserting or removing the extra leaves of an extending table is a two-person job. To prevent injury and property damage from unexpected tipping of furniture, we highly recommend installation of anti-tip kits, if supplied with your furniture and for any piece of furniture over 600mm in height. As hardware may loosen overtime, periodically check that all connections are tight, and re-tighten as necessary.
