‘Space-elevating accessories like cushions, footstools and lamps are a great place to introduce checks and dogtooth fabric, as well as luxe materials like velvet and frosted glass,’ explains Elkie.

Little nods to the Arts and Crafts movement are great for adding personality to your interior. ‘Pair mismatched paisley and floral cushions with William Morris wallpaper for an authentic Bloomsbury vibe and don’t be afraid to loosen traditional style rules,’ Elkie continues.

As she says, ‘Antique furniture and hand painted murals are classic Bloomsbury, but you may find it easier to channel the look’s bohemian spirit – and make it entirely your own – by drawing on the scrolled sofa arms, pedestal base tables and painted wood occasional pieces of modern country furniture.’

She continues, ‘Leather and wood might sound traditional, but bold modern accessories and contemporary lighting will make sure that this trend stays effortlessly sophisticated.’

She continues, ‘Geometric patterns and prints in the form of wallpaper, cushions, bed linen and rugs give this trend contemporary style as well as the cosy warmth you want.’

Elkie also recommends accessorising with the bright green foliage of well-tended potted plants – the bigger the better – and let nature make its presence felt, albeit from the warmth of your New Nostalgia living space.
